Lower Unit Repairs: Skeg & Cavitation Plate Repairs

At Precision Propeller, we specialize in lower unit repairs, focusing on restoring damaged skegs and cavitation plates. These critical components are often exposed to underwater hazards like rocks, debris, and shallow bottoms, making them especially vulnerable to impact damage.

If your lower unit has sustained damage, don’t worry—it may not need to be replaced. In many cases, bent, cracked, or chipped skegs and cavitation plates can be repaired, restoring both function and appearance. A professionally repaired lower unit can improve your boat’s performance, handling, and fuel efficiency.

We work with aluminum, stainless steel, and other common materials used in marine applications. Our experienced team takes pride in quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, helping boaters across the Fraser Valley / Lower Mainland and beyond get back on the water with confidence.

Please note: The lower unit must be removed from your outboard or sterndrive engine before being dropped off for service. This allows us to properly mount it on our stand for repairs. We do not remove or reinstall lower units. If you need assistance, please speak to your marine mechanic.

Have questions or not sure if your lower unit is repairable? Call or text us at 604.596.7311—we’re happy to help!
